The bell of Kriaunos returned back.
On the last Friday of October, the legendary bell of Kriaunas, one of the oldest bells in the Baltic States, returned to Kriaunas and was raised above the church. This is one of the activities of the Kriaunai Providence Parish project “Kriaunai Bell - for the People of the Silesian Land”. The project is funded by the Rokiškis District Local Action Group Strategy.
The bell, when its historical value was clarified, has been kept in the Obeliai Museum of the History of Freedom Fights for the past few years. It is believed that the bell was cast at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries in the Ruthenian lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
