To give a road St.Jacob some life

The eight LAG leaders gathered in Rokiškis to discuss whether and how they could contribute to activating Lithuania and providing human energy to the to the path of St.Jacob. Rural LAGs have a program of territorial communication projects funded by the Lithuanian rural support program to implement the idea of cooperation. The project would connect 10 LAGs in the country, with areas of of the title church of St.Jacob.

Initiative for territorial cooperation project to activate St.Jacob's path and breathe life into it, the Rokiškis district LAG was born. In the district the title St. Jacob's hurch is located in Suvainiškis. It is low visited because it is located on the Lithuanian-Latvian border.

Eimantas Novikas, Dean of Rokiskis, who attended the meeting, invited LAG leaders to first reflect on the essence of the pilgrimage path and to rely on the needs of the faithful - prayer and testimony. Sigitas Kirlys told about his pilgrimage to Spain St.Jacob’s Way, sharing experiences, provided knowledge of how the infrastructure was built.

The leaders of the country's LAGs discussed possible activities for the Territorial Cooperation project, predicted the problems ahead and discussed how their impact could be avoided. The initial idea of contributing to the activation of the path was welcomed by all participants. The LAG leaders brought home the task of discussing the project idea with their groups, municipal leaders and reflecting on the best sections of the route in their territories.
